AUSFILM – May 2022: Matt Smith joins CATO as Oprations Manager.

This month CATO Location Services welcomes Matt Smith to the management team in his new role as Operations Manager.

Matt brings years of industry experience to the role, having worked on a range of domestic and international productions in a variety of positions within the locations department.

Matt’s first location job was on Peter Rabbit 2 which was filmed in Sydney in 2019. CATO also provided traffic control and security services for the Sony Pictures production, which filmed in popular locations around Sydney such as Centennial Park and Carriageworks in Eveleigh.

Most recently, Matt has worked as the Location Coordinator for the Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder, as well as on the upcoming Amazon series The Lost Flowers Of Alice Hart which CATO provided traffic and security for, earlier in the year.

In his new role at CATO, Matt will provide support, guiding the management and operations teams to ensure services are delivered in a timely and consistent manner and to the highest standard.

CATO are currently expanding their focus on safety throughout the company and as part of Matt’s role, he will also ensure all services adhere to the highest safety standards.

CATO provide Safety Supervisors, Stunt Coordinators and Covid Safety Supervisors for film and television productions and will grow their on-set safety services even further in the future.
