Returning to the Mad Max franchise, CATO Location Services provided a variety of logistical and location-based services for Mad Max: Furiosa. CATO supported the production with Security and Crowd Control, Traffic Management, Swing Drivers, Unit Support and Vehicles whilst parts of filming took place in NSW. These services are integral to ensuring production runs smoothly whilst shooting on location; a major consideration for a project such as Furiosa.
It was exciting for the CATO Crew to return to Mad Max: Furiosa after successfully providing services on Mad Max: Fury Road, shot almost a decade prior. Locking down the Cahill Expressway for a Mad Max: Fury Road activation in 2017 was a major highlight. The team is thrilled to have been able to contribute again to the production of such an iconic Australian franchise.

CATO Location Services MD Kieran Cato recently embarked on a unique journey to the Northern Territory for the filming of Nutopia’s second series, Limitless with Chris Hemsworth. Upon reflection, Kieran emphasised the challenges involved in gaining access to remote communities in the NT.
Filming has wrapped on the second season of Australian Fremantle/Netflix series Heartbreak High. After a successful first season working with Fremantle, CATO Location Services was re-engaged to provide traffic management, security and production vehicle hire.
We have experience working on events of all sizes, and have been involved with some of the biggest events and productions in Australia’s history. We’ve managed all traffic closures for the iconic City of Sydney and Northern Beaches NYE fireworks for multiple years. In 2023 we worked with North Sydney Council for the first time, successfully managing their New Year’s Eve celebrations also.
